The route

The best way to get to Pulau Weh Island for Europeans or Americans is to fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, and then continue to Banda Aceh, in the Indonesian province of Aceh, which is about 32 km from the island of Pulau Weh, your final destination. You can get to the island by fast ferry or slow ferry.

Fly into Iskandar Muda International Airport (BTJ), which serves both domestic and international routes.

On the island

Balohan to Gapang

Upon arrival at Balohan, you can reach Gapang Beach easily by taxi, tuk-tuk, or motorbike — just ask for Bubble Addict Diving Centre.

Car and scooter rentals are also available at the port for travelers who prefer exploring the island independently.
